Cross country
Me and my class grabbed a felt pen and drew a dot on our hand. The reason why we did that was because it shows our grade, year 5’s were green and year 6’s were blue. After that we all rushed out the door to go line up. Me and my friend were sitting together and chatting while waiting to go up and run. The 9 year old's went first to run. Some people cheered them on while they were standing up and walking to the field. One by one each line gets up and goes to the backfield to race. After a while the year 6 girls got up and walked to the back field ready to race, We all lined up behind the line and waited for Ms H. to clap the blocks together. *BANG* We all turn into sonic and run as fast as bolt, All the girls start to run off. Me and my friend Kalana ran together next to each other following all the other girls. We ran in so many different directions. When we got to area 1 we saw all the juniors cheering for us as we sped past them, So much noise going on as we ran. Half way through we see our other friend, So we decide to run with her. On and on we go running with all the strength we have. Switching between jogging, running and walking just trying our best to make it to the end. On the way, we cheered some people on as they just started their race. And then finally We made it to the finish!! I run to the fountain and have a nice cold drink.
Kia Ora Armahny. I found this story super engaging, I noticed how well you structured your story and how you used writing tools like similes and an onomatopoeia to keep your blog readers entertained. I wonder if next time you could use your senses to help describe what it was like being apart of cross country.
